Following the example of other European countries where civil society is actively involved in the inventorying, conservation, and promotion of national heritage, we invite you to take part in “a different kind of civic volunteer activity.”
The interactive project “Historical Monuments of Romania” contains approximately 19,800 entries, based on the complete list of Group A and Group B historical monuments, excluding archaeological sites, according to the official 2010 list available on the website of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. So far, photographs have been added for approximately 7,200 of them (36%).
We invite all lovers of beauty and photography who already have images of historical monuments in Romania, or who wish to photograph monuments in their street, village, or town, to help complete this virtual picture. We would be delighted if, through the joint effort of all those who appreciate the importance of knowing and valuing our country’s historical heritage, this project could soon offer images and descriptions of all the historical monuments in Romania.
